50 Years Later, the Jeep Wagoneer is Still a Classic

The Jeep Wagoneer has earned its place in the automotive market by being a reliable and recognizable vehicle with an impressive legacy.  The Wagoneer holds the number three spot for longest production run in U.S. history and is celebrating its 50th birthday this month.

The renowned Wagoneer is responsible for inspiring the remarkable crossovers and SUVs that are on the current market. The Jeep Wagoneer was the first luxury 4x4 and was produced and sold between 1963 and 1991. It underwent few mechanical changes throughout its many years of production, but was then retired for the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Wagoneer's legacy continues to live on and is credited as being the first luxury SUV.

While you can't buy a new Wagoneer these days, there are rumors circulating that this vehicle's iconic and widely familiar name could make a comeback in the near future with new innovations.  Some old original Wagoneers can also be found with a little diligent searching . Other drivers who have previously owned a Jeep Wagoneer have moved onto the Jeep Grand Cherokee and been pleased with the similar performance and reliability that they were used to in the Wagoneer.
