A Diesel Engine Could Soon Be Under the Hood of the Chrysler 300

As temperatures rise, traditionally, so do gas prices, and we've had many customers come into the St. Marys Chrysler Dodge Jeep showroom wanting to learn about how they can save money at the pump and get the most mileage out of their new vehicle.  One efficient alternative to a gas powered engine is a diesel one, and we're happy to let our customers in the Lima OH, Celina OH, and Sidney OH areas know that we could soon have a new diesel-powered sedan in our lineup.

Saad Chehab, head of the Chrysler brand, has announced that the automaker is considering adding a diesel engine option to the popular Chrysler 300.  It will probably be brought to production in a year or two, but this is still very exciting news.

We have an idea of what this would mean for American drivers because customers in Europe are already being treated to a similar diesel experience.  Buyers overseas have access to a 300 V6 engine from VM Motori, and it gets nearly 30 miles per gallon on the highway.  We're sure that the stateside 300 will boast even more impressive mileage.

American guidelines require the engine to have different emission standards, which is why it hasn't appeared here yet, but we can safely bet that once the diesel option is brought to the 300 that other vehicles, such as the Chrysler 200 will follow suit.
