Get to Know the 2014 Dodge Durango

Although it seems like we were just getting to know the 2013 Dodge Durango here at St. Marys Chrysler Dodge Jeep, it's time for us to get acquainted with the 2014 edition that was recently unveiled at the New York International Auto Show.   Revelers were given the opportunity to admire the SUV's exterior, cabin, special features, and what's under the hood.

On its exterior, the new Durango has a unique signature LED tail-lamp and a new, slimmer grille that has a different mesh texture for each trim level (SXT, Rallye, Limited, R/T, and Citadel).  Inside the cabin drivers will find the manufacturer's latest Uconnect touch screen navigation and entertainment system with either a 5- or 8.4-inch screen.

The biggest changes for the 2014 SUV can be found under its hood, because the automaker really prioritized fuel economy when designing it.  Drivers will see a 9 percent jump in efficiency over the previous year's performance, and the transmission is now an eight speeder.  Reid Bigland, CEO of the Dodge brand, explains the company's goal for the new Durango, stating, "When the Durango was first launched in 1998, it represented a breakthrough in power, size and style.  Now for 2014, we're upping the ante by making it our most technologically advanced, fuel-efficient and dramatically styled Durango ever."

We expect the new 2014 model to arrive here at our 500 McKinley Road Saint Marys, OH 45885 location sometime at the end of this year.  Stay tuned to our blog to read all of the latest news about this model and other vehicles in our new and used inventory.
